Baking Soda is a facinating product, dating back as eary as the ancient Egyptians who used the mixture as a cleansing agent! Refined in 1791 by a French chemist as we know it today, but it wasn't until 1846 that two New York bakers developed the process of making baking soda from Sodium Carbonate and Carbon Dioxide who later merged to form the makers of Arm & Hammer.
1. Baking Soda as a Facial Scrub: One part Baking Soda, two parts ground oatmeal mixed together
2. Baking Soda for Itch relief from Poison Ivy, Sumac, Measles or Chicken Pox: A half cup of Baking Soda in warm bath water and soak.
3. Baking Soda White Teeth Cleaning and Whitening: Wet toothbrush and dip brissles in Baking Soda to brush your teeth. If you have sensitive teeth, mix Baking Soda with your regular toothpaste to brush.

25. Buff Tarnish From Silver with Baking Soda: Mix a paste of Baking Soda and water, rub on silver with a damp cloth, rinse and buff dry.
26. Reverse Tarnishing Process From Silver: This method reverses the tarnishing that occurs on silver, and can be used for jewelry, silverware and most smaller silver pieces. Use a glass dish,as a lasagna baking dish. Line your dish with tinfoil *bottom only*, shiny side up. Put in your silver pieces, and make sure one piece does not touch another. Sprinkle about a tablespoon of baking soda over the pieces, and then pour boiling kettle water over the pieces so that the water totally covers them. Wait 15 minutes, then put your clean silver into hot soapy water, wash, rinse with hot water, and dry. Let air dry for 1/2 hr. before putting away.
